   CONCERNING...HEAVY SNOW 

   VALID 252110Z - 260115Z

   SUMMARY...HEAVY SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE AREA WITHIN
   THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO...PERSISTING THROUGH 00Z. SNOWFALL RATES IN
   EXCESS OF 1 INCH PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE.

   DISCUSSION...SURFACE OBSERVATIONS ACROSS NE AL AND NW GA HAVE
   ALREADY STARTED REPORTING SNOW...INDICATING THE MID-LEVEL DRY LAYER
   HAS MOISTENED ENOUGH TO SUPPORT PRECIPITATION AT THE SURFACE.
   PERSISTENCE PRECIPITATION INTO THIS LAYER IS EXPECTED TO RESULT IN
   SNOW OVER THE REMAINDER OF NRN GA WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO WITH
   SNOW LIKELY BEGINNING IN SRN PORTIONS OF THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS AS
   WELL. 

   AS THE SYSTEM CONTINUES EWD AND BECOMES MORE VERTICALLY-STACKED...
   LOW LEVEL JET IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE SUBSTANTIALLY WITH A
   SUBSEQUENT ENHANCEMENT OF LOW/MID-LEVEL WAA. 300K ISENTROPIC SURFACE
   INDICATES VERY STRONG WAA INTO THE REGION BETWEEN 21Z AND 00Z.
   GUIDANCE IS IN GOOD AGREEMENT THAT PROFILES THROUGHOUT THE REGION
   WILL BE SUPPORTIVE OF SNOW WITH SNOWFALL RATES AT OR ABOVE 1 INCH
   PER HOUR POSSIBLE. 

   THE HEAVY SNOWFALL THREAT WILL CONTINUE INTO PORTIONS OF CNTRL SC
   AND CNTRL NC AFTER 00Z.
